Preparation:
These steak tacos pull double duty with ONOIN Jalapeño Lime it's both the marinade and the topping. The jalapeño, lime and herb infused onions in olive oil tenderize and flavor the steak while it marinates, then you spoon more straight from the jar right onto the finished tacos for a fresh, punchy bite. No chopping onions, no squeezing limes, no crying. Just bold, well-rounded taco flavor from one jar.
Most steak taco recipes require you to separately marinade, then chop fresh onions, then slice jalapeños for topping. ONOIN Jalapeño Lime handles all three in one step. The secret ingredient you can use "ON-O-IN".
- In a bowl or bag, combine ONOIN Jalapeño Lime (3 Tbsp), olive oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Add steak and coat well. Marinate 30 minutes (up to 4 hours refrigerated).
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high. Pat steak dry and cook 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust to preference).
- Transfer to a plate and rest 5 minutes. Slice thinly across the grain.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet 10–15 seconds per side (or over a gas flame for char).
- Assemble tacos with steak and spoon 2 Tbsp ONOIN Jalapeño Lime on top. Add optional toppings and serve with lime wedges.
Pro Tips:
- Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes. The longer the better.
- Let the steak rest for 5 minutes after cooking before slicing against the grain.
- Flank steak or skirt steak work best for tacos - thin slices, big flavor.
- Add a dollop or sour cream or crumbled cotija to balance the heat.
